MAIN LIBRARY MEETING ROOMS

A variety of meeting rooms are available free of charge throughout The City Library. Rental and service fees may apply for conferences, large events, private meetings, and after-hours events (see our fee schedule and rental rates for more information). Information packets are available at any branch location and at all Main Library service desks.

Nancy Tessman Auditorium

The Nancy Tessman Auditorium, with its beautiful stage and stadium seating for 300, is an ideal location for lectures, debates, film screenings, and cultural events. The Auditorium's main entrance is at the east end of the Main Library's Urban Room. The Auditorium may be rented for after-hours events.

Amenities and technology include Internet access; a large, retractable projection screen; DVD/VHS player; CD player; slide projector; overhead/opaque projector; LCD projector; computer display connections on stage; microphones; a piano; and access to dressing rooms. Amenities and technology subject to availability and may include rental fees.

Conference Room A

Conference Room A is an excellent venue for small classes, lectures, and meetings of groups between 15 and 35 attendees. Accessible from the Main Library's Lower Urban Room, Conference Room A has no windows and makes for a good space for privacy or projections. Rooms A, B, and C are separated by thin collapsible walls which can be moved to create a larger space (as availability allows).

Wired Internet access, a whiteboard, and a retractable projection screen are standard in Conference Room A. Optional amenities and technology include a TV/DVD player, slide projector, overhead/opaque projector, LCD projector, telephone, and microphone. Amenities and technology subject to availability and may include rental fees.

Conference Room B

Conference Room B is an excellent venue for small- to medium-sized classes, lectures, and meetings of groups between 25 and 60 attendees. Accessible from the Main Library's Lower Urban Room, Conference Room B has no windows and makes for a good space for privacy or projections. Rooms A, B, and C are separated by thin collapsible walls which can be moved to create a larger space (as availability allows).

Conference Room D makes for an easily-accessible room for small meetings and classes. Conference Room D has a large conference-style table and chairs and comfortably seats up to 15 people and is known for its glass doors providing views of the Lower Urban Room and Children's Library that make the small room comfortable and active.

Conference Room L1

Conference Room L1 comes equipped with tables and chairs, ideal for classroom-style presentations and meetings. On Level L1 of the Main Library, Conference Room L1 is easily accessed from the Main Library's signature glass elevators and is immediately next to the Children's Library. Conference Room L1 has no windows and makes for a good space for privacy or projections.

Conference Room Level 2 is an appealing, modern location for small business or community meetings. Conference Room Level 2 has a large conference-style table and chairs and comfortably seats up to 15 people. The space highlights the building's award-winning design by offering an open ceiling and utilizing the Main Library's Light Canyon as a fourth wall, creating a spacious feel for the small room.

Conference Room Level 4 is famous for two large banks of windows: viewing The City Library's collection and Wasatch Mountains to the east, and overlooking breathtaking views of the City Building and downtown's skyline to the west. Ideal for lectures, press conferences, large presentations, musical events, and more, Conference Room Level 4 is a large, flexible space.

Wired Internet access is available in Conference Room Level 4. Urban Room

The Main Library's Urban Room embraces the building's award-winning architecture from all angles. With five-story tall glass ceilings, The Urban Room is a remarkable setting during the twilight and evening hours. The Urban Room makes a lovely venue for wedding receptions, school dances, company parties, reunions, and many more large events. As the main entry to the building, including the Shops and Services at Library Square, the Urban Room is only available to be rented for after-hours events.
