Why Do I Need a PIN?

PINs (Personal Identification Numbers) are now required to login to your library account online and onto the public PCs in all of our locations. This is being done to increase the security of your library account and to pave the way for new technologies coming soon to the library.

How Do I Get a PIN?

If you have a phone number on record with the library, then great, you already have a PIN! By default your PIN will be the last four digits of the phone number you have on record with us. If you don't have a phone number on record with us, or don't remember what it is, you can fill out the form below, call 801-524-8200 with your card number and birth date ready, or come in to any City Library location with your library card or valid photo ID and speak with a librarian.

Online PIN Form

Welcome to the City Library's Online Personal Identification Number (PIN) form. Using this form you can add a PIN to your library card if you don't have one, or to change your existing PIN.

You will receive an email notification as soon as your PIN has been updated. Please allow up to 12 hours for your PIN request to be fulfilled. If you would rather have your PIN activated immediately, call 801-524-8200 with your card number and birth date ready or come in to any City Library location with your library card or valid photo ID.

Enter as seen on the backside of your library card, under the bar code (starts with 2 1120 ...)
For your security, PINs cannot be repeating (e.g. 1111) or patterned (e.g. 1212).
Your email address will be used only for this one-time purpose and will be deleted after use
