Kids are invited to DIG INTO READING this summer with The City Library’s Kids’ Summer Reading Program! With cool dig-themed events from June 1 to August 3, kids can get the scoop on science, magic, dance, yoga, puppets, reading, and so much more! Plan your summer with these great events, and be sure to pick up a reading tracker starting June 1—tons of prizes are available for kids who read their way through the summer.

The Magic Lantern by The Puppet Players
A genie, a lamp, a princess, a Sultan, and a mysterious lamp-seller. For some reason, the genie's magic won't work for the royal girl. What were those magic words? Puppeteer Coralie Leue and her friend Marvin the Monster have presented professional shows with The Puppet Players in the Salt Lake area for over twenty years.

The City Library Underground
Explore The City Library’s seldom seen underground tunnels! Beginning promptly at 1pm in the Children’s Library, participants will head down to the Boiler Room through secret passageways, journey under the street to the City and County Building, and even climb the historic clock tower. Bring a flashlight, comfortable walking shoes, and a sense of adventure! Recommended for kids ages 6 to 12; adult supervision is required.
