New York Times Bestselling Children’s Author shares his beautiful pop-up books
September 20, 2012—Salt Lake City—Famed paper engineer Robert Sabuda will speak to The City Library on September 27, at 7pm. Sabuda is a well-known children’s author, and the creator of numerous pop-up books. His intricate and detailed works of art have landed him on the New York Times Bestseller list for children, though his books are popular with readers of all ages.
Sabuda visits The City Library in conjunction with the current exhibit Pop-ups: Books that Spring to Life from the collection of Ann Montanaro Staples, featuring moveable books from throughout the last century, and as part of the Movable Book Society’s annual convention.
Following Sabuda’s lecture will be a reception and a book signing on Level 4 in the Special Collections room, alongside the pop-up book exhibition. This event has received funding from the Utah Humanities Council. The Utah Humanities Council enriches our cultureal, intellectual, and civiclife by providing opportunities for all Utahns to explore life’s most engaging questions and the wonders of the human experience.
