Visit the Day-Riverside Branch to Get Outside, Get Into Nature, and Make Discoveries
Jun 4, 2012—Salt Lake City—All Aboard Jim Henson’s Dinosaur Train! Every Saturday in June at 9:30 am at the Day-Riverside Library Branch, kids will have the chance to explore the role of nature in regard to the world around them, just as they experience on Jim Henson’s PBS animated series, Dinosaur Train.
Each week they will track, collect data, learn to conserve, and explore their communities. On June 9 and June 30, Dinosaur Train’s Buddy the T-Rex will pay a special visit to the Day-Riverside Library. Join us to have your picture taken with the curious series character.
KUED, Tree Utah, Utah Museum of Natural History, and The City Library are pleased to sponsor the Dinosaur Train Nature Tracking events at the Day-Riverside Branch throughout the month of June.
Dinosaur Train is a creation of the Jim Henson Company (Muppets, Sesame Street), which follows the adventures of the Pteranodon family as their adventures take them through various periods in the Mesozoic era. The host of Dinosaur Train is Dr. Scott Sampson, Research Curator at the Utah Museum of Natural History, giving this popular program a very local connection.
This program is part of the larger Kids Summer Reading program at The City Library, which provides a variety of free activities all summer long. For more information, visit www.slcpl.org.
