Jenn Waterhouse, Board Member of Great Salt Lake Audubon will speak about John James Audubon, namesake ornithologist and painter—his life, his work, and his enduring influence on ornithology. Waterhouse will also address the early development of Great Salt Lake Audubon and its current work in Utah.

In addition, The City Library's incredible 1860 edition of Audubon's book The Birds of America will be highlighted. One of only a handful of surviving copies of the 1860 edition, the book is filled with 150 life-size chromolithography prints which were painstakingly reproduced from Audubon's original paintings. Attendees will have a rare chance to page through a facsimile of the book. The book is stored in a glass display case on Level 4.
