Straight to the Point: Perspective and Design
Drawings by Excelsior Academy Jr. High students
Reception: Sat, Apr 26, 1–2:30pm
Artists and designers use the principles of art to help them make smart choices in the creative process. In this project, students learned and applied the principles of art to create unique room designs. This design process was then combined with one point perspective to allow students to portray their ideas in three dimensions. Students utilized the following design principles: balance, variety, harmony, emphasis, proportion, pattern, movement, and rhythm. The goal of this project was to teach students that skill, knowledge, and planning are necessary in any design process.
