ARTIST'S STATEMENT & BIOGRAPHY
Born Dec 27, 1988 in Guadalajara Mexico one could say I was far less creative than I was a rowdy child. I moved to the United States with my family and introduced to art at the age of seven (Redwood Road Elementary). Through a weekly art class taught by “Grandma Neth”. My earliest artistic memories are of me laying on the floor recreating my favorite cartoons, oblivious to the roaring vacuum cleaner that would surely trace my silhouette onto the carpeting.
Quickly I fell in love with art and pursued the creative process throughout my education. I was involved in print making, ceramics, advertising, folk art, art history, mixed media painting etc. It wasn’t till later in high school that I realized that my thoughts and ideas very much related to those of the philosophy of life, moral thought/action and human condition. Soon after was I able to apply thought through brush to canvas and have done so since then. Now at the age of twenty four I find myself filtering the things I love, notice, question and dislike about my surrounding world and applying them to canvas or paper.
