Dr. Sandra Buys, Board Certified in Internal Medicine with subspecialties in Hematology and Medical Oncology and Medical Director of the High Risk Breast Cancer Clinic at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, will introduce recent advances in breast cancer treatment, as well as current recommendations for breast cancer prevention and screening. The discussion will emphasize community resources available for patients and families. Recent data estimates that 1 in 9 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Subsequently more than 200,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year in the USA, resulting in 45,000 deaths annually. Join us for an evening of conversation and questions as we examine breast cancer treatment and resources available in the Salt Lake Valley.
